Craving some chocolate? How about a healthy, creamy treat that exists somewhere between the realm of ice cream, smoothie, and frappuccino? Yum. I blended together some classic and delicious ingredients to form a dessert (or breakfast!) creation that tastes incredible! I suggest you pair this drink with a movie night with friends, or a wintery breakfast spent by the fire. It’s a good one for coming home to if you go out for a run in the morning and need to cool down. I talked about this drink a lot in my post yesterday so I’ll go ahead and get to the recipe!
Frocomochana (Frozen Cocoa Mocha Banana)
1 tablespoon cocoa powder (preferably dark chocolate)
1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk (or whatever you’ve got on hand)
1 teaspoon sugar
1/4 cup coffee
1 banana, sliced into one inch pieces and frozen
Extra almond milk for blending
1. In a mug, combine cocoa powder, milk, and sugar. Microwave for 90 seconds and then stir until ingredients are thoroughly dissolved.
2. In a shallow tupperware, pour hot chocolate and coffee. Put dish into freezer and let freeze until it’s set.
3. In a blender, combine frozen banana slices, and frozen hot chocolate/coffee mixture. Before you begin blending, try to chop up the hot chocolate/coffee mixture a little bit so that it blends easier. While blending, add small amounts of almond milk if necessary to increase smoothness in texture.
Serve cold, in jars or mugs or glasses or bowls depending on consistency and preference. I suggest including a layer of peanuts in the middle of the Frocomochana like a parfait and then sprinkling more nuts on top. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
